Ocean Paintings by Rachel Fairfax

Rachel Fairfax grew up at the beach. Her family lived up north at Tuncurry, and she continues to live by the sea now, at Coogee. “I believe that growing up in the country near the ocean for my childhood is imprinted in me deeply.  The way I survive living in the city is to be near the ocean as an adult. I spend time by the ocean early in the morning everyday.” The paintings in her latest series -- beach scenes of Coogee and Tuncurry -- are meditative and reflect her daily visits to the seaside.
